One Young Sheldon Scene That Caused Raegan Revord To Relive Her Personal Trauma
You won't see this on-screen, but the emotions were hard to handle.
It's not uncommon for actors to struggle with what they have to do on set. Sometimes the scenes are too physically demanding and require a lot of preparation and training and other times the problems are more mental.
The actors have to overcome a lot of their fears and prejudices in order to do their job properly and give their best performance.
But that's not what you usually think about when you watch a sitcom. The stories, full of jokes and heartfelt conversations, are usually far from triggering.
However, Young Sheldon actress Raegan Revor, who plays Sheldon's sister Missy on the show, had a difficult time filming one of her character's toughest scenes.
At some point in season 6, Missy gets so fed up with her parents' neglect that she decides to run away. The girl steals a key to her father's 1986 Ford F-250 and drives around with her boyfriend by her side.
What's even more impressive is that the girls manage to drive about five hours east of Medford before the cops pull them over.
What we see on the screen are two young teenage girls having fun in a car.
However, as Revord admitted on her Instagram, it was the hardest episode to film because she got into a real car accident just a few hours before the start of her work day.
"The irony here is I'm pretty much in a car for this entire episode, but you know what they say, 'you gotta get back on the saddle," the actress jokes in her post.
Despite her positive attitude about the situation, she admits that filming was extremely challenging. Although she survived the accident, it stayed with the actress for a long time, causing PTSD and panic attacks for weeks after the event.
One can only imagine how difficult it was to perform fresh from the near-death experience.
None of this is evident in the episode, however. As always, Raegan Revord gave Missy her best, and we're sure to see the same level of performance in tonight's season 6 finale. Tune in to CBS at 8:00 p.m. to catch the epic hour-long finale.
