One Virgin River Character Unlikely to Survive S5 Unless One Key Change is Made
Loneliness can hit hard at times, especially when you are no longer in your twenties…
Virgin River is a soapy drama on Netflix that is full of romance of all kinds.
Of course, there is the main love story between Mel and Jack, played brilliantly by Martin Henderson and Alexandra Breckenridge.
In fact, this storyline may be the first reason why fans tune into the show. But there are a lot of secondary storylines that are no less interesting and sometimes even more intriguing.
For example, the fandom adores the grown-up storylines about the show's mature characters. Like Dr. Vernon "Doc" Mullins and his ex-wife's reunion.
There is also the sparkling romance between Brie Sheridan and Dan Brady, who is doing his best now that he found his love in Brie.
Of course, romance is not the only story of the Virgin River. There are also friendships and family relationships, with Lydie and her grandson Ricky being the best example.
But at the end of the latest season 4 he decided to join the military, so he won't be in season 5. And this news made the fans worry about Lydie's future.
The thing is, they all agree that she is highly likely to pass away while Ricky is gone, and that really breaks their hearts. Fans say she was one of the most lovable characters on the show and it wouldn't be the same without her.
"Can we all agree Lydie is going to die while Ricky is gone? Ugh that scene of her alone in her empty house broke my heart," Reddit user idkmybffhaley said.
This means that in order to keep Lydie alive, the writers may have to come up with a way to keep her company. Thanks to the fandom, there is a great suggestion that her friends might end up helping her not to die of loneliness.
For example, remember how Hope showed up after Ricky left and told Lydie that she is going to be there for her? Well, maybe that could be the answer.
Virgin River season 5 is expected to hit Netflix as soon as summer 2023.
