What Emma D'Arcy probably expected with the release of House of The Dragon is the press tour with numerous interviews alongside their co-stars. What they didn't know was that one of those interviews would give them even more popularity than the show could ever give.
In one of the MAX promotional videos, Emma D'Arcy sat down with their co-star Olivia Cooke to answer some Get To Know Me questions. One of the questions was about their drink of choice, and the way the actor answered it was so oddly seductive and satisfying that it was instantly memed.
It also turned out that not many people have ever tried a Negroni Sbagliato with Prosecco in it, so interest in the drink in local bars was instantly high.
In the recent interview with Tyler Doster for AwardsWatch, the actor shared that today you can find the drink on some bar menus under their name, D’Arcy.
And this achievement may be even more impressive than anything related to the show itself.
“What was great about becoming a meme was that my mom was thrilled. She was so excited. <...> The irony is probably that is the true answer: Negroni Sbagliato changed my life, man. Yeah. What a weird year,” they said, laughing about the whole situation.
Fortunately, not only is the drink getting the recognition it deserves, but so is Emma D'Arcy. We doubt that many people are learning about House of The Dragon and D'Arcy's amazing performance through various tik toks, tweets, and YouTube remixes of them saying their favorite drink, but every bit of exposure helps.
