Queen Charlotte is causing more controversy among fans every day.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is a Bridgerton spin-off that revolves around the Queen, first and foremost a great historical figure with a very interesting story to tell.

The news of its production was greeted with joy by the majority of the fandom, but the closer it gets, the more controversial it becomes.

Especially considering the fact that the spinoff stands between the fandom and the long-awaited season 3.

Since the story will take place before Bridgerton season 1 begins, it would be appropriate to consider Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story as a prequel to the original series.

This alone has sparked a debate among fans, with some happy to see the beginning of the Queen's reign and others enjoying the idea of finishing the main series first.

"No hate towards QC, I am also anticipating it, but [to be honest] I think they should just finish the current series of Bridgerton first before doing QC.

I just recently finished GOT and I really liked that they finished the main series first before creating a prequel (House of the Dragon ) and I think this could be really good if applied to Bridgerton as well," Own_Transition1070 said, beginning a Reddit discussion.

As perfect as the Game of Thrones franchise model seems, the producers would probably run into major problems if they tried to apply it to Bridgerton.

First of all, even at the height of its popularity, Bridgerton didn't quite reach the level of Game of Thrones, which means that not as many fans would stick around and come back to the show's prequel as easily.

Second, these two stories are far more intertwined than Game Of Thrones and House Of The Dragon ever were.

While the latter two took place almost 200 years apart, Queen Charlotte is still alive and well in Bridgerton, so it wouldn't make sense to wait for the show to end.

There would probably be no fuss at all if Netflix would reassure Bridgerton fans with a specific release date for season 3.

But the only thing we know for sure is that Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will hit screens on May 4, 2023. Keep an eye out and don't miss the premiere!
