One Twilight Star Ashley Greene Had a Crush On (And No, She's Not Team Edward)
Let's just say that Ashley's Twilight crush definitely made her job easier.
It turns out that Ashley Greene, who portrayed Alice Cullen in the Twilight movie saga, had a crush on her co-star Jackson Rathbone, who oh so conveniently happened to play Jasper Cullen, Alice's boyfriend.
"I had a big old crush on Jackson Rathbone while we were filming," Greene revealed at her podcast The Twilight Effect. "Within our first encounter, I was like, 'This dude's super cute and a Southern gentleman. … I was like, 'Okay, I'm into it.'
Greene even said that Rathbone taught her to swing dance. Of course, having a crush on her co-star made it "easy" for her to portray his eternal love. However, the Alice Cullen actress is still unsure if the feeling was mutual.
"If he did know, he just wasn't into me," Greene said, noting that Rathbone "had to have known".
She added that she was not hopelessly in love and dated other people while she had a crush on Rathbone. During the work, it helped her to deliver a believable performance, although at the time Greene "the skillset of creating onscreen chemistry and separating that."
Greene, who is now married to Paul Khoury and has a daughter with him, believes her Twilight crush on Rathbone (who is married to Sheila Hafsadi and has three children) was "harmless" and "super fun".
Alice and Jasper are arguably the second most popular vampire couple in Twilight after Edward and Bella. Greene and Rathbone have appeared together in all five Twilight movies, from the original 2008 film to the saga's 2012 finale, Breaking Dawn: Part 2.
