One Time Harry Potter Was Can’t-Look-Away Cringy Because of… Lindsay Lohan

We bet you don’t remember that Harry Potter movie… Let us explain.

There are currently eight Harry Potter films, and while Lindsay Lohan has a decent British accent, she is still American, and therefore, is not part of the franchise. No, she is not going to be in Max’s remake either (at least, there is no official confirmation of that yet).

In the year 2013, Lindsay Lohan did take part in a particularly disturbing SNL sketch about Hermione’s growth spurt. You guessed it – she played Hermione Granger wearing a very low-cut blouse.

The skit was filmed only 10 years ago, but its level of cringe would suggest that it is from at least another century. The sketch features prominent SNL cast members, such as Jimmy Fallon, Rachel Dratch, and Horacio Sanz.

The entire skit is only about five minutes long, but it totally feels like an hour. That’s how excruciatingly unbearable it is to watch.

The sketch is filled with misogynistic jokes about Hermione’s new post-pubescent look and not-so-hilarious sexual innuendos from other characters, who are, frankly, borderline creeps.

Lohan herself looks very uncomfortable throughout the whole thing and as if she couldn’t care less about the skit – she couldn’t even take her eyes off the teleprompter.

Remember how we all thought this was peak comedy in 2013? We are sorry to burst your bubble, but the sketch wasn’t funny then, and it isn’t funny now. Especially not the scene where “Snape” and “Hagrid” are enchanted by Hermione’s breasts.

Talk about promoting this as a social norm played for laughs… SNL, come on, do better.
