There is nothing like the joy of watching a TV show for the first time and getting to know all the characters, laughing at the crisp jokes, and being surprised by the unpredictable twists and turns. However, there's nothing better than re-watching a show and focusing on certain things that may have escaped your attention the first time around.

This is why so many people still watch, discuss, and take a genuine interest in The Big Bang Theory. Even though the show ended its 12-season run four years ago, in 2019, there are still fans who are re-watching the sitcom and taking notes on some things they have never noticed before.

One of them was a heavy load of foreshadowing sprinkled throughout the series, intentionally or not, leading up to the grand finale. Now that I know how things ended for each character, it's much easier to see the intent behind otherwise seemingly innocuous events that took place earlier.

In the episode The Hook-up Reverberation, all four guys decide that they want to invest in Stuart's comic book store to help him get back on his feet. However, now that they are all in serious relationships, Sheldon is the one to point out that they need to ask their partner's opinion before making such a large expenditure.

“I know that if I had a wife or a fiance, I’d ask her first before investing my money in a comic book store,” he said to the rest of the group.

Though the comic book store dream ultimately fails to materialize, the episode does provide a deeper understanding of Sheldon and Amy's relationship. As much as Sheldon denies any romantic involvement between them, he considers her a partner trustworthy enough to give him the advice he needs, so he ends up talking to her as well.

If anyone’d had any doubts that these two would one day get married, this episode should have put them to rest.

If you want to rewatch it and see if you get that line as foreshadowing, you can stream The Hook-up Reverberation (S8E4) of The Big Bang Theory on Netflix or Max.
