The Uranus joke might have helped with that.

When you think of The Big Bang Theory and partying, there is only one character that comes to mind.

Of all the characters, Penny is definitely the one who most fits the image of a party animal: you can imagine her going out more than anyone else, and fitting in with any crowd much more easily.

However, just as every real-life group of friends has a dark horse whose full potential is revealed under the influence, The Big Bang Theory also has one.

Sheldon Cooper becomes much more relaxed and even funnier than usual when he gets drunk.

You'll be surprised at how many instances throughout the show there have been to show off drunk Sheldon's humor. Remember when Penny spiked his drink at the Cheesecake Factory?

Howard's bachelor party? Karaoke night with a pregnant Bernadette? Or that iconic night he called none other than Stephen Hawking? The list goes on and on.

Fans believe that what makes these moments so special is that Sheldon is nothing special in them. Alcohol makes him almost the same as everyone else, minus the superior IQ.

He's funnier, more relatable, and generally friendlier than he appears when sober. Drunk Sheldon seems to be the closest the audience ever gets to seeing "normal" Sheldon.

Another fan theory is that drinking actually helps Sheldon let go of the constant control he has to have over his life and let down his guard around the people he trusts.

That is why we always see him so vulnerable around the people he already knows and loves well enough to let them see him that way.

In real life, you wouldn't be encouraged to drink more to become a different version of yourself, but since the show is fictional, fans almost wish they had more.

For now, all you can do is relive these truly wonderful moments by streaming The Big Bang Theory on Netflix or MAX.
