While some are still grieving the show's ending, others seem just a bit too happy with it.

The news that HBO's Succession would be ending after Season 4 shook the fanbase to its core and left everyone wondering what exactly led to this decision.

It is not uncommon for a show to end at its peak, but it is also not that common.

Especially when it comes to a show like Succession, which could seemingly continue for at least a few more seasons with more storylines.

Fans weren't the only ones disheartened by the decision to end the show in its fourth season.

Sarah Snook, who portrays Shiv Roy on the show, confessed in her interview for the Los Angeles Times that she felt "a huge sense of loss, disappointment and sadness" after hearing the news.

As it was later revealed and confirmed by other cast members, the destiny of the show was undecided for a long time, even when season 4 was already in production.

Apparently, Jesse Armstrong, the creator of Succession, had both ideas in mind while working on the show, but only one felt right in the end, leading to the tough decision.

Not everyone felt the same about Succession's rather unexpected ending: Jeremy Strong, who plays Kendall Roy, had hoped for the end because of his character development.

"I feel, in the best possible sense, a feeling of completion," the actor said in an interview with TVLine. "And a feeling of an arc having run its course."

Whether fans are ready to accept the fact that their favorite show is coming to an end or not, they are all excited to see what season 4 of Succession will bring.

The final season premieres Sunday, March 26th at 9/8c on HBO. Tune in to find out who will come out on top in the Roy family's epic battle for the throne.
