Not only the crew and cast, but fans were also concerned for their well-being.

It is no surprise that Succession has been so popular, compelling, and dramatic, as each actor in the cast has gone out of their way to make the characters their own.

It's impossible to imagine any of the Roy siblings, or Logan Roy himself, being portrayed by anyone but the cast.

Their talent is proven not only by the numerous critical accolades, trends on every social media there is, and high ratings of the show, but also by a constant battle for Emmy nominations, with each of them equally deserving of the award.

No matter how things turned out for their characters in the finale, it was easy to see the toll this show took on its cast.

However, one actor in particular seemed to struggle the most, as his emotions during the filming of the final scene made the crew justifiably fear for his life and well-being.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Jeremy Strong shared his perspective on the impulsive improvisation move that may have caused him some trouble, but fit perfectly with Kendall's character and emotions during the heartbreaking moment of loss:

"I tried to go into the water after we cut — I got up from that bench and went as fast as I could over the barrier and onto the pilings, and the actor playing Colin raced over. I didn't know I was gonna do that, and he didn't know, but he raced over and stopped me."

Although Strong's thought and intention to show his character's messy emotions in yet another unhealthy way was appreciated, it almost made series creator Jesse Armstrong lose his cool.

As he explained in the same interview, nothing on the set was prepared for such stunts: they didn't have boats, frogmen, or any other safety measures for working in the water.

So it wasn't surprising that the main concern was the actor's safety, not the character's decision at all. If you missed Succession's 90-minute grand finale, you can stream all four seasons leading up to it on MAX.
