One Star Who Was Totally Pissed Off by South Park, But Also Managed to Shock the Creators 

South Park is famous for not holding back on mocking, well, everything — celebs, politics, you name it. This gets it into hot water sometimes, but it's got a ton of fans and has even scored some good reviews.

Over the years, the show has ruffled many feathers, but one particular incident stands out — an episode involving the iconic singer and actress, Barbra Streisand.

In an early episode of South Park titled MechaStreisand, the creators took the liberty of transforming Streisand into a mechanical dinosaur, a parody of Japanese monster movies.

This portrayal was part of the show's larger tradition of depicting celebrities in bizarre and often unflattering ways. However, Streisand's reaction to her portrayal was anything but typical.

Streisand, who prides herself on her ability to take a joke, was not amused by South Park's satire. She first learned about her caricature in the show from a Time magazine article. Her main concern was not just about her portrayal, but the potential impact of such shows on the younger audience.

She expressed her worries that shows like South Park might be fostering a culture of cynicism and negativity, especially among children.

She feared that young viewers might get the wrong impression about successful women, perceiving them as embodiments of self-centeredness and greed.

South Park's response to Streisand's criticism was in line with their irreverent style. They doubled down on their mockery of Streisand in a later episode titled Spookyfish, where they featured images of Streisand's face throughout the episode.

This was a clear indication that the creators were not going to back down from their satirical style.

However, the story took an unexpected turn when Streisand attended the Broadway musical, The Book of Mormon, created by South Park's creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Despite her public criticism of their show, Streisand's presence at their musical was a surprise to the creators. Matt Stone, in particular, was astounded to learn about her attendance.

While South Park's take on Streisand was probably too harsh, she managed to shock the creators with her unbiased approach to their other work.
