The eagerly-awaited third season of The Mandalorian has not got off to the best possible start — some Star Wars fans are worried about the future of the season and the series in general.

Which is certainly not the case with The Bad Batch! The semi-sequel of The Clone Wars, a popular animated series, was initially met with little interest.

However, over the course of two seasons, people have grown attached to a group of elite clone troopers known as the Bad Batch.

In addition, the references to both the George Lucas films and other projects (some of which are far from being considered canon now) in the expanded universe motivate fans to delve deeper into the lore and look forward to the new series.

So, why is there so much love for a series that was considered a spin-off and is now ready to compete even with The Mandalorian? The first thing to note is the scale of events.

While the first season focused on a handful of rebellious clones making their way through the galaxy, viewers are now introduced to the true behind-the-scenes intrigue of the first years of the Galactic Emperor's reign.

For example, fans are excited to see what other secrets of clone engineering will be revealed.

Given the importance of cloning in The Mandalorian (which is still a big mystery to us), it is quite possible that there will be more connections between the two series.

"My guess is that they used Palpatine's own DNA (Omega does have a similar hair color to pre-gray-hair Palpatine IIRC), but it failed to imbue any Force sensitivity.

That might explain she was treated as special on Kamino but not the Most Important Clone Ever, why they opted to find an even more Force-sensitive subject for their experiments (i.e. Grogu), and also why she's not Force sensitive," Reddit user jwaldo points out.

Moreover, Star Wars admirers have been buzzing about the appearance of a clone commando named Scorch (officially stated in the credits), one of the main characters in the 2005 game Republic Commando.

Dave Filoni seems to take great pleasure in bringing video game events back into canon.

Overall, the series is now beloved by fans for its responsible handling of lore, thoughtful character development, and the genre diversity of the series, including drama, action, comedy, and even horror.
