However, fans seem to be getting tired of the constant updates without any actual info on the release date.

Even though the fifth season of Stranger Things is still a long way off, each new exciting update about the show's finale makes the anticipation less and less bearable.

In a recent interview with Collider, Shawn Levy, who has been a regular director on the series since its debut season and has been responsible for some of its most awesome episodes, revealed that he will be returning to the show for its final ride.

He said that he has been with the show's creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, for years, returning each season in what has become their "brotherhood," so he will definitely be adjusting his shooting schedule to be available to direct at least one episode.

Levy has specifically directed episodes 3 and 4 of each season, including episode 4 of season 4, "Dear Billy," which made a huge impact and has been hailed as one of the best TV episodes of 2022 and even of all time, according to some fans.

At the moment, Shawn Levy is busy with Deadpool 3, which will be the first movie about the character that is part of the MCU and is scheduled for May 3, 2024, so when Stranger Things season 5 begins production, the filmmaker will most likely be available.

Although they are excited about the director's return, some fans point out that with each passing month, their passion for the show diminishes a bit, as waiting years between seasons can really numb the excitement.

For now, it's been updates, updates, updates, and the release date hasn't gotten any closer as they still don't even know the exact date. The only thing we know aside is that the series finale is expected sometime in 2025, so the tactic of building up the hype can't really work forever.

Hopefully it will be worth the long wait, otherwise the grand finale of the whole series might end up being quite disappointing.

Did the excessively long wait kill your mood for season 5 as well?
