The DC Animated Movie Universe did it long before Andy Muschietti.

As Warner Bros. gears up for the release of the new Flash movie, they will introduce the audiences to their version of the famous DC crossover story, Flashpoint. However, the fact that this arc has already seen the light of day in a 2013 animated feature is something only true fans know.

Prior to the release of The Flash movie, fans of the Flashpoint storyline had several opportunities to experience it.

First through the original comic book series in 2011, and then in 2013 through the animated movie Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. While each iteration has its own unique elements, they all share a common goal — the rebooting of the DC Universe.

Just like the Flashpoint comic book, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox animation follows Barry Allen, aka The Flash, as he travels back in time to save his mother, causing the timeline to change significantly.

With the world being thrown into chaos, familiar characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman take on different roles in this alternate reality.

Featuring the voices of Justin Chambers, Sam Daly, Cary Elwes, and Vanessa Marshall, this animated adaptation captures the heart of the Flashpoint storyline and allows fans to experience the thrilling alternate reality before the live-action version arrives.

Bringing in new talents like James Gunn, Andy Muschietti, and Peter Safran, the direction of the film went to full reboot mode, allowing the new executives to start fresh.

Even though The Flash movie has already lost a part of its fan base due to some allegations against the main actor, it is definitely worth watching as it is going to set the stage for a whole new universe.

In a matter of hours, DC fans will be able to experience the new perspective of the Flashpoint arc on the big screens and dive deeper into the story that led to the creation of Prime Earth and the New 52, the new DC timelines that played a pivotal role in the DC Universe.

But first, don't walk, run and watch Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox cartoon to make your wait less painful and more enlightening.
