One Movie Where Tarantino Crossed the Line with His Foot Fetish
All the greats are weirdos, that's been established. Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is a known foot fetishist (though he keeps denying it). If you don't believe it, try to find at least one of his movies without a barefoot scene, we dare you!
This is all in good fun, but there is one movie where Tarantino's love of feet went completely overboard. While he didn't direct 1996's From Dusk till Dawn, he did write the screenplay for it and cast himself in one of the lead roles.
There is a scene rather early on in the movie where Tarantino's character, Richie, drinks alcohol off of a stripper, played by Salma Hayek, in a rather unique way.
The stripper, Santanico Pandemonium, pours the drink down her leg and makes Richie drink it by sucking on her toes. First of all, yuck. Second of all, double yuck.
Was this scene really necessary for the plot of the movie? Hardly. Was it one of the final scenes for Tarantino's character before he died? Conveniently, it was.
One fan pokes fun at the whole thing, saying that Tarantino probably asked to do like 100 takes to "get this scene right." Honestly, we don't even know how many takes it took, we just feel sorry for Salma.
Others note that not only did Tarantino write the movie and cast himself in it, but he also "paid himself" (this instance included).
The guy probably created the vampire-inspired movie around that scene alone.
Some people don't want to join in on the fun and instead condemn the screenwriter's actions.
They believe that while having a foot fetish, in general, doesn't hurt anyone, going out of your way to make someone participate in it for the sake of the plot (but not really) is "another level of gross" (sorry, but we have to agree with them on this one).
While From Dusk till Dawn is not the Tarantino movie with the most feet-featuring scenes (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood may be the winner here), it is definitely the one that makes you want to hurl the most because of that footage.
Well, the actresses in his movies seem to be more or less OK with giving their feet screen time, so we guess it's not that big of a problem…
