Station 51 may have a dirty little secret to explain.

Chicago Fire is far from a comedy when it comes to the majority of its episodes. The show has its own funny and heartwarming moments, but the firefighters and paramedics end up in all sorts of very dangerous and tense situations that usually keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

However, there is one detail that sometimes makes its way into the shot, and once you notice it, you'll never look at Station 51 the same way again. The station has a pole.

It wouldn't be a big deal if the supposed building for the station had more than one floor. However, since the building has been shot from all possible angles over the 11 seasons of the show, it's very clear that there is only one floor, and the pole would either go through the roof or be there just for fun.

After all, who knows what hobbies firefighters have in their spare time? Being in such good physical shape would be a great advantage for anyone interested in joining a pole dancing class. It would also be a win-win situation for those who might be transferred to other stations in other buildings. There's no such thing as too much practice.

Of course, there should be an explanation for this behind the scenes, but the most interesting part is that there isn't. Although it's well known that many of the scenes for the show were shot in a real Chicago firehouse, Engine 18, that doesn't explain the pole, because the real building is also one story high.

So the mystery of the Chicago Fire pole will live on forever without an answer. This little detail is not only harmless to the plot, but also leaves a lot of room for a fanfiction writer's imagination.

If you want to try and spot a sneaky pole in the background of some Chicago Fire shots yourself, you can stream all 11 seasons of the show on Peacock TV or NBC.com. The show has already been renewed for season 12, but there is no official release date yet, so keep an eye out for any updates!
