It's amazing how you can talk about something so much, yet say nothing specific at all.

There are plenty of reasons for Grey's Anatomy fans to be offended on behalf of Arizona Robbins.

Unfortunately, one of the characters with a bigger storyline and huge potential ended up being treated very unfairly by her loved one and got some very questionable arcs in the run.

One, however, is still upsetting not only the general audience and fans who loved Arizona for her bubbly personality, but the smaller group of people who were connected to her for the greater cause.

For many years, Arizona was supposed to represent people who were dealing with amputations and living with prosthetics.

However, it turned out that everything related to that was used for soapy drama in her love life and not explored as it deserved to be.

Of course, after the infamous plane crash episode in season 8, one of the main focuses was on Arizona, who lost her leg in the incident.

She was extremely opposed to the idea of amputation from the beginning, and had to argue with her wife Callie, who was forced to make a decision when the trauma became life-threatening.

There was a lot of focus on her trauma in seasons 9 through 11, with all the physical therapy, relationship drama, and some side passion projects. And then…

Well, as far as fans could tell, it was all just forgotten and left in the past, as Grey's Anatomy often does. One difference is that you cannot just forget something that affected your body so much and move on.

What's worse is that not only did the writers seem to forget about it, but so did everyone else on the set.

Some of the more observant viewers noticed Arizona wearing tighter pants that did not show the outline of her prosthesis. Others were under the impression that she wasn't wearing one at all.

As unfortunate as it is to show the lazy writing around such important topics, Arizona still stands as one of the most fan-favorite characters of all of Grey's Anatomy's run.

If you're feeling nostalgic and want to relive the story of Arizona Robbins, you can stream Grey's Anatomy online on Netflix, Hulu, FuboTV, or ABC.
