There are plenty more options to choose from.

One of the things that makes a good soap is the variety of different couples and the ability of the plot to switch between them quickly so that the viewer never gets bored.

Matchmaking is an art in itself, but what's even harder is writing the characters so that their feelings are convincing and their dynamic works.

General Hospital, a prime example of a soap that has survived on television for more than 60 years, has always had this covered.

Though not every relationship was as exciting as the others, they kept the bar relatively high for on-screen chemistry and kept the audience wanting more.

Today, however, there are far fewer couples that keep viewers on the edge of their seats from one episode to the next. One of the most disappointing is #Jex, a pairing of Dex Heller and Josslyn Jacks.

The problem with these two characters is that they are... completely forgettable.

They have a nice on-screen chemistry and are portrayed well enough by their respective actors to not be hated, but fans don't see enough reason to like them either.

If anything, their scenes just don't stick with anyone, and the writers just don't seem to put in enough effort to fix that.

If there was a shortage of blonde girls and brunette villains, their pairing would be more justified than it is now. One way to spice things up that fans see today is to add a third character to the mix.

Kristina could be a strong contender, as she has been noted to have good chemistry with Dex as well. And who knows, maybe she'll be the one who gets him in the end.

Whatever General Hospital does with this couple, it is clear that they need to pay more attention to them.

Despite having all the potential to be the soap's IT pairing, #Jex currently lacks the intrigue that usually makes a relationship interesting to watch.

And if the writers can't find a way to add that, it could be the end of them together.
