Every person who thinks of himself as cinemaholic definitely at least heard of this classic western movie directed by Sergio Leone. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was released in 1966 and since then is claimed to be the best movie in the genre.

The movie starred Clint Eastwood as the iconic Man with No Name and was the third and most successful installment of the Dollars trilogy.

However, there is a no less iconic 2008 South Korean movie called The Good, the Bad, and the Weird, which was obviously inspired by the old classic.

But if you think this is just the same movie with the cast replaced by South Korean actors, you are wrong, because this western K-drama went much further in its story.

In the center of the story are three men (surprise, surprise): a bounty hunter, a hitman, and a thief, who are desperately searching for a treasure map to become rich and finally make their lives bearable. Of course, they hope that the map will lead them to the treasures and that's why they are so dedicated to their mission.

However, they are not the only ones on the search, as there are some other teams trying to find it all before them. For example, the group of relentless Manchurian bandits who need the map to sell it to those who can pay the highest price.

The movie goes on with the never-ending fights to get to the map, and if you think that creator Kim Jee-woon's Korean Western has nothing to surprise you at the end, wait until you see it.

Apart from the all star Korean cast I think something that really elevates the film is the sets and production design.
