Old Harry Potter Tape Proves Emma Watson Was Always the Perfect Hermione
It's not like we ever doubted it.
OG Harry Potter fans know that J.K. Rowling once thought that Emma Watson was way too attractive to play dorky Hermione Granger, but landed the role anyway. In fact, Rowling herself admitted that the entire trio was too good-looking; moreover, Watson was "lucky" that the author first spoke to her through the phone.
Thanks to that, Emma had the perfect chance to win Rowling's heart with her charisma and Hermione-esque vibe. Still, even videotapes prove that Watson was always the perfect choice for Hogwarts' brightest witch.
It's painfully nostalgic to watch the video of the Golden Trio's first joint screen test, when Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint were reading some lines from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
However, the old videotape also clearly illustrates just how perfect all three were for their roles — especially Emma.
Seriously, look at the way this little actress mouths every single line of Daniel and Rupert! If that isn't the most Hermione thing to do, what is?
We can't help but remember how Alphonso Cuarón, the director of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, told the trio to write essays about their characters, and how on-point everyone was. Daniel handed in a couple of pages, Emma rolled out a tome, and Rupert... just straight up forgot about the task.
Time goes by (because it's a mysterious thing, time...), and now we're heading into a whole new world where MAX is about to reboot the Harry Potter universe with an all-new cast.
While the upcoming reboot has our full support, even though the cast is not known yet, as OG Harry Potter fans, we can't help but sigh nostalgically. Will the new golden trio ever be able to live up to the standard set by these three?
