Now We Know the Exact Date Riverdale Ends for Good
It's official: the end is near for the beloved Archieverse drama Riverdale. The CW has finally set the premiere date for the highly-anticipated final season, and we also have the official date for the series finale.
The final season of Riverdale, fronted by KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Cole Sprouse, will start airing on Wednesday, March 29th at 9pm, following a new episode of The Flash. The network has also announced that the series will come to a close with the finale airing on Wednesday, August 23rd. That's right, we only have 20 episodes left with our favorite characters.
Now, let's be real here, as much as it pains us to say it, the show does need to end. Don't get us wrong, we've been invested in the lives of Archie and the gang since the very beginning, but let's face it, the show has been all over the place and it's time to call it a day.
Plus, with all the talented actors in the cast, we have no doubt that they'll all go on to have bright futures in the entertainment industry.
Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes are already killing it outside of Riverdale (if you haven't seen Camila's Do Revenge, watch it ASAP), and we have a feeling that Cole Sprouse and KJ Apa will be cast in many more roles in the future.
But before we say goodbye to Riverdale for good, the final season is set to take us on one last wild ride. Picking up where last season ended, Jughead Jones (Sprouse) finds himself trapped in the 1950s with no idea how he got there or how to get back to the present. And his friends are no help, as they're all living seemingly authentic lives, similar to their classic Archie Comics counterparts, completely unaware that they've ever been anywhere but the 1950s.
So, get ready to say farewell to Riverdale and all the drama, mystery, and romance that comes with it. It's been a wild ride, but all good things must come to an end eventually. Can't wait to see what Riverdale stars will be up to next!
