We bet you haven’t seen them all!

The father of the Dune franchise, Denis Villeneuve, has recently lamented the fact that Dune 2 is still the highest-grossing movie of the year that earned more than $711M.

However, both Villeneuve and the audience can pay attention to other worth-watching box office successes of 2024, with 7 of them being enlisted here.

1. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire — $567 Million

Indeed, this year’s installment of the Monsterverse franchise attracted millions of viewers worldwide. The epic action roller coaster, following the next collaboration of Kong and Godzilla, is a must-watch for all kaiju movie fans.

2. Kung Fu Panda 4 — $543 Million

The animated martial arts franchise is still our favorite, and its box office success proves it. Both kids and adults will have a lot of fun observing Po’s complicated search for his successor as the new Dragon Warrior.

3. Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes — $338 Million

Here comes not only a commercial, but a critical success too, as it earned a decent score of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. The journey of a young chimpanzee accompanied by an amazon woman is a truly spectacular story.

4. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire — $200 Million

This installment of the hit franchise was panned by critics and claimed to be a pale shadow of the original movie. However, if you’re an ardent fan of Ghostbusters, you’ll enjoy the adventures of the franchise’s veterans and their new recruits.

5. Bob Marley: One Love — $179 Million

Another rotten film is in our list, but still a high-grossing one. The biopic about the King of Reggae doesn’t do enough justice to Marley, nevertheless, there is still a lot of good music and summer vibes.

6. The Fall Guy — $158 Million

You may have recently seen Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt ’s action comedy, but if not, we recommend you to do it. The story of a stuntman who ends up involved in a movie conspiracy is a nice movie choice for the weekend.

7. The Beekeeper — $152 Million

Last comes, presumably, the best Jason Statham movie in years that became both a box office and streaming hit. Here our favorite action star portrays another cool guy confronting the gangsters, and we all love it.
