But adults can check them out, too.

The South Korean TV industry is taking the world by storm and is turning the viewers into obsessed fans of K-dramas. The perfect thing about these shows is that there’s something for everybody. Thrillers, rom-coms, horrors, dramas – they are successful in almost everything!

There are also a lot of different K-dramas for different age groups. Here we have 7 perfect shows for teenagers… or those who are still 16 at heart.

1. Extraordinary You (2019)

This absolutely charming K-drama is an adaptation of a webtoon called July Found by Chance. At the center of the story is a 17-year-old girl Dan Oh, who suffers from a heart condition and knows her life won't be long.

However, one day she realizes that she is currently living in a Korean comic, and her every move as well as her whole life depends on whatever the author decides to do next.

When she finds out that she is not a titular character though, she decides to turn it all around and make her own story happen. This drama has everything any teen would like.

2. Sassy Go Go (2015)

The events of the series take place in the school where all the students suffer from the highly competitive system that makes them always hungry for grades. The series highlights the absurdities of the education system and how hard it is for the students to make it through.

At the center of the K-drama are the outgoing Kang Yeon-deon and Kim Yeol, an amazing student who forms a cheerleading group after a cheating scandal. The show has it all: drama, friendship, romance, and everything else.

3. All of Us Are Dead (2022)

Well, one of the most popular K-dramas that not only teenagers but also adults really enjoy is All of Us Are Dead. It takes the familiar zombie apocalypse premise and adds a new level of suspense by setting it in a high school.

In the middle of the year, Hyosan High School becomes a place where a deadly virus is discovered that turns students and teachers into inhuman creatures whose only desire is to suck someone's brain.

“It’s a zombie show that doesn’t take itself too seriously in my opinion, also I think the kids are less stupid than characters in other zombie shows/movies so I liked it! I think the first 2 episodes could’ve been combined tbh, they kinda drag on but after it gets good,” Sunny_flower_816.

4. My Roommate Is a Gumiho (2021)

A fantasy drama focusing on Shin Woo Yeo, who appears to be a very handsome writer, but is actually an inhuman creature who is a 999-year-old nine-tailed fox. However, in order to maintain a human image, he collects human energy in a pearl.

Once, as usual, he took all of a young man's energy and went to help his friend move his body, but accidentally lost the pearl. Again by accident, Lee Dam swallows it. But there's one thing: the pearl can't live in a human body for more than a year, or it will kill him... Now they have to find a way to save him.

5. A Love So Beautiful (2020-2021)

At the center of the drama is Cha Heon. He has everything: brains and looks. Everyone around him thinks he is a cold-hearted person, but in reality he just can't express himself properly, but has a pure soul.

One day, Shin Sol Yi tells him that she has a crush on him, and that changes their lives. The series was inspired by a Chinese show, but viewers who have watched both say that the Korean version is a little lighter and more fun to watch.

6. The Heirs (2013)

Another extremely popular show is this one, which can be described as both a teen drama and a rom-com. The show focuses on several wealthy and socially privileged high school students and their not-so-child-like problems with relationships, first love, friendship, and family issues.

The K-drama also features one of the oldest tropes of a young poor girl falling in love with a rich boy and changing her life for him while trying to win him over. The series is perfect for teens because it can be relatable to them, although some of the plot twists are too predictable.

7. The Uncanny Counter (2020-2023)
