And maybe one of the most anticipated collaborations is still a possibility.

Christopher Nolan makes smart, multimillion-dollar blockbusters, hates special effects, and believes his movies should only be seen in theaters.

He is supported by a huge army of fans around the world who have elevated the director to the undeniable status of genius.

Throughout most of his career, Nolan has occasionally noted that he is a fan of the James Bond franchise, and in a recent interview, he also admitted that he would be honored to direct one of the films:

“The influence of those movies in my filmography is embarrassingly apparent. It would be an amazing privilege to do one. At the same time, when you take on a character like that you’re working with a particular set of constraints.”

Recently, it was revealed that Nolan has moved from words to action – according to reports, negotiations between Nolan and the team of Barbara Broccoli, the producer of the franchise, have been going on for quite some time, but their progress has been slowed by SAG-AFTRA strike.

According to sources, there is one major obstacle to getting a Bond project off the ground under Nolan's command – directors aren't usually given the full creative freedom that Christopher is likely to demand. After the success of Oppenheimer, he is unlikely to make any concessions.

Christopher Nolan would be an obvious choice as the new director, with his share of critical and commercial success on top of his obvious love for the franchise.

A few years ago, Nolan even started developing the plot with the Bond screenwriters, but nothing came of it – the director devoted all his time to Oppenheimer. Now that Nolan's magnum opus has been released, maybe he will decide to devote his free time to the new Bond (we hope so).

If these rumors are true, the world of cinema is in for another amazing collaboration, as Nolan has already established himself as one of the most talented and original directors of our time. And for James Bond fans, this certainly means exciting and unpredictable developments in the world of 007.
