The isolation may cause even more damage now.

If there's one thing viewers really appreciate about Young Sheldon, it's the extremely realistic portrayal of religious life in a small Texas town in the early 90s. From the big authority figure of Pastor Jeff, who slowly becomes less and less likeable with each season, to Mary Cooper herself, who is extremely affected by all religious practices.

From the very beginning of the show, it becomes very clear that Mary's devotion to the church is an issue within the family, and it turns out to be true. She supposedly turned to God after she had some complications with the birth of her daughter, Missy Cooper, and was heavily influenced by authority figures in the church.

There's nothing wrong with being a believer and following whatever practices you feel comfortable with, but Mary's devotion and strictness has drawn a line between her and virtually everyone else in her life.

With her own mother constantly wanting her out of the house, her husband no longer excited to spend time with her, her daughter basically hating her every time she tries to open her mouth, and even her daughter-in-law choosing Meemaw as her favorite instead, Mary is left on her own.

Even Pastor Jeff, to whom she has shown nothing but devotion, is now abandoning her.

In the Young Sheldon fandom, Mary Cooper has never been the most popular character because of her favoritism toward Sheldon and her stubbornness about church and religion. But in a setting like this, one can only imagine how isolated she must feel, and how hard it is not to be the favorite of the only member of the family who hasn't turned on her.

If Mary Cooper's arc deserves anything to move forward, it's a little rest and understanding. After all, being a full-time mom to three kids and running a household is no easy task, so she could use some help. However, knowing the state of her relationships with her family in The Big Bang Theory, it's highly unlikely that we're going to see anything change for the better.

To see how Mary's journey continues, stay tuned for all the important news and behind-the-scenes updates on the upcoming Young Sheldon season 7.
