That's what not listening to fans does.

If you were to go back at least three to four years ago, you'd be blinded by the dazzling success of Game of Thrones. The franchise was everywhere: the books were in every bookstore's bestseller section, the merchandise was sold at every other store, and quotes from the show were used in everyday conversations.

After just a few years and a very successful spin-off, it feels like the Game of Thrones hype is completely over. Unlike many other franchises, such as the MCU and DCEU, Star Trek, or Star Wars, Game of Thrones had its moment of glory and has now almost completely faded from the minds of the general public.

There are several reasons for this, but you can probably guess the biggest one.

There were simply too many fans who were disappointed by the series finale to continue to care about this world or its characters. With so many people joining the fandom simply because of an adaptation without knowing the content of the books, the stakes for the show were too high. Unfortunately, it just didn't deliver.

But even for those who switched to the books, the experience wasn't the best. With all due respect, George R.R. Martin is not the best writer when it comes to pacing. Many fans would gladly turn their backs on the show and choose the books if only there was a final book.

Without it, it is hard for fans to stick around, as they are more likely to be disappointed by what they saw on television, without getting any satisfaction from the ending.

House of The Dragon, which is a prequel to the original Game of Thrones story, is a chance for the franchise to find its way back into pop culture.

The show is based on the already completed book series, so everyone can tune in and read without the fear of not knowing how the story ends. Plus, both the show and the books focus much more on Game of Thrones' greatest strength: dragons.

The House of The Dragon production team continues to work on the production of season 2, now filming in the UK, in the midst of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Stay tuned for the release date of the next season!
