What if Game of Thrones was an Italian mafia movie?

If you are a Game of Thrones fan, and it feels like House of the Dragon is not enough, AI is here to save the day again.

Even if you are feeling a bit oversaturated when it comes to all the AI adaptations of movies and series, you can’t pass by this one.

A YouTube user translated Game of Thrones into Italian — not linguistically, but stylistically. With the help of AI, the video reimagines the characters we all know, love and hate as if they were in Italy in the 70s-80s. Surprisingly, the mafia setting suits the characters extraordinarily well.

One great comment gives all the characters respective Italian names: Nazario Stracci, Giovanni Stracci, Arianna Stracci, Silvia Stracci, Tirone Lancastri, Varrone, Giacomo Lancastri, Circe Lancastri, and others.

Some of the characters are even voiced in Italian, — the voiceover is also generated with AI. Seems like there is nothing AI can’t do these days.

As absurd as it sounds, Game of Thrones in such a completely different setting is something that many people would love to see in theaters.

The houses would now become families, each trying to have as much power and control over Italy as possible.

Picture this: King's Landing would become Capo's Landing, a hustlin' and bustlin' city filled with Italian flavor and pizzerias on every corner (you can’t make an Italian GoG adaptation without stereotypes).

Instead of the Iron Throne, we would have the Don's chair, and instead of valiant knights, we have tough-as-nails mobsters fighting for power and control.

Instead of some old-timey castle, we'd have a pimped-out mansion, where the legendary Don Targato (Targaryen) calls the shots.

The movie would introduce us to the honorable Giovanni Stracci, aka Jon Snow, as he tries to stop the war between families.

In this world of power, money, and mobsters, nobody's safe. We would have some epic mafia battles and family feuds that'll make The Godfather feel like a tea party.

Even though the whole point of these AI-generated versions is to be hilarious, we have to admit it, Game of Thrones set in Italy sounds like a fantastic concept. But let's face it, it's never going to happen.
