NBC has been home to a number of hit comedies over the years, including both Friends and The Office. Superstore is one example of a great sitcom that managed to survive on the small screen for years despite being overshadowed by other, more popular projects.

The show follows a group of perpetually disgruntled employees of a fictional big-box store, Cloud 9 — a setting that provides a lot of room for workplace-related humor. You'll find the characters and their stories especially compelling if you have a similar experience of working in a large Walmart-like chain store.

Besides, Superstore also raises some important social issues along the way, such as maternity leave and illegal immigrant employment.

Happy Endings

At first glance, Happy Endings may seem like just another Friends parody about six 30-somethings in Los Angeles. But in fact, the show offers a unique self-contained story, with well-written and diverse characters who try to find the best answer to one difficult question — when a couple within a friend circle breaks up, who should the friends stay with?

Unfortunately for fans, ABC didn't have much faith in the sitcom. According to Eliza Coupe, one of the series' stars, the network almost completely stopped promoting the show during its third season and eventually canceled it.

Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23

Chloe is a very cheerful but ruthless girl who lures new flatmates into her apartment and then immediately shows her true colors, acting in such a way that people move out but still have to pay part of the rent and security deposit. However, once she invites June over, she can't get rid of her, as her new neighbor stays and even becomes friends with Chloe.

With a great cast including Krysten Ritter and Dreama Walker, the sitcom quickly established itself as one of the funniest and smartest comedies on TV.

You're the Worst

FX has never been afraid to take risks with complex concepts, and one of the perfect examples of this approach is You're the Worst — an anti-romantic sitcom that tells the story of an incredibly toxic relationship.
