The one thing that stopped the Night King's march to the south was a girl with a dagger — granted that a girl was a trained assassin and the dagger was magical.

But have you ever considered what would've happened if the Night King was not defeated then and there?

Let's admit, you likely have. But what would the army of the dead have done after conquering the entirety of Westeros?

Most people claim they would've just settled down and started viciously chilling since the Narrow Sea prevents them from continuing their march toward Essos… However, that's unlikely.

There were quite a few ways for the dead to continue their slaughter on the new continent — the Narrow Sea wasn't much of an issue for them. Why? Let's see.

Walking

We already saw the undead walk underwater when they were pulling a dragon out of a deep lake. They could've done the same and crossed the Narrow Sea this way. At that point, losing a few thousand of them to the currents was no big deal.

Walking (but fancier)

The Night King is very familiar with ice, to say the least. We saw him wield it, and the fact the undead army brings immense cold wherever it goes still stands.

It seems only logical that they could've summoned an ice bridge to walk across the sea, right?

Walking (all the way around)

According to speculations, Westeros and Essos may actually be connected in the Far North.

It's not like the Night King was in any hurry — after gathering hundreds of thousands of new soldiers, he could've gone there to enter the second continent.

Sailing

After the Westeros-wide massacre, there would've been thousands of ships for the taking.

Sure, they wouldn't have housed all the dead, but it's also not necessary: there are many more potential employees on the other side of the sea. Ahoy!

Flying

After his complete victory at Winterfell, the Night King would've had three adult undead dragons.

He could've taken his generals and flown across the Narrow Sea — let's face it, who cares about the undead? He would've made new ones in Essos in no time.
