We can’t get enough of her ominous characters.

Mystery thrillers and crime dramas are probably one of the most compelling genres out there, and it's great that the television market is full of perfect shows with such a premise. Still, every time a new series is announced, we wait with anticipation to see what else is in store.

That’s why when we learned that Netflix is going to release a new mystery crime drama called The Perfect Couple with Nicole Kidman as its lead, we were just on cloud nine.

In recent years, the actress appeared in many mystery series. In Nine Perfect Strangers she played a woman named Masha, who was an owner of a very weird wellness center where kept her strangers hostage.

And don’t forget the HBO drama The Undoing, where Kidman starred together with Hugh Grant. That miniseries was also rather disturbing, telling about the murder case with two prime suspects.

This time, Kidman will embody a new multi-layered character, Greer Garrison Winbury, and Liev Schrieber will play her husband. The Winburys are planning a wedding in Nantucket, and while it is supposed to be the biggest and wealthiest wedding of the season, it turns out to be the most dangerous one, too.

Everything goes wrong when a body is found on the beach near the house, and the guests are all suspects. But the thing is, Kidman's character is also a famous mystery writer. And the real-life mystery looks a lot like one of her stories... Coincidence? The newly released trailer gave the audience a glance of whatever happened there.

The Perfect Couple is based on Elin Hilderbrand's bestseller book of the same name, and the limited series will only have 6 episodes. The show is premiering on Netflix on September 5.
