Newest Virgin River Update Hints at Trouble for Beloved Character

Virgin River fans were left with so many cliffhangers after the first part of the season 5 finale that it's hard to imagine their level of anticipation now.

The two special episodes of the season will be released on Netflix on November 30, and the show's creator has just hinted at something terrible that will happen there.

Patrick Sean Smith first said that these episodes will be the highlight of the season, meaning that the characters of the show have been through so much in the first 10 episodes that it's time for them to finally have some Christmas cheer in their lives. But the latest plot update revealed that at least one of the townspeople is in danger.

The character he was talking about is Preacher. One of last season's biggest cliffhangers involved him: he was told by his new girlfriend, Kaia, that her team had found a body in the woods and that she was going to investigate. And the hardcore fans know what that means...

Remember back in season 2, Preacher helped his former girlfriend bury the body of her crazy and abusive husband that she accidentally killed? It seems like Preacher’s secret is just about to be revealed and we don’t know how things will end up for him.

The show's creator said in the latest interview that there's a tendency in the writing world to put the most beloved characters in danger, so fans should indeed be worried about their favorite guy.

Smith also shared that it was not an easy decision to go back to that storyline and change everything for Preacher because “he is such an honorable man.” But in the end, they decided it was better to go ahead and explore the dynamics of the new romantic duo.

Five seasons of Virgin River are available to stream on Netflix, and the rest of season 5 will be released on November 30.
