The story of the series revolves around Assane Diop, brilliantly portrayed by Omar Sy, who calls himself the "gentleman burglar" and organizes his criminal affairs inspired by the book of the same name by Arsène Lupin.

Season 3 ended on such an extraordinary cliffhanger tying all three seasons together that season 4 is now probably the most anticipated chapter in the history of Lupin. Although it's not confirmed yet, the latest update from the director gives us hope.

In the interview with Variety, George Kay shared his views on what's in store for Lupin. He feels that the story is far from finished, and the return of Pellegrini is an indication of that. Kay mentioned that he put a lot of thought into creating a dynamic between all his characters and that there will always be more to tell.

So the only thing we are waiting for is the green light from the studios to start production. And the director feels that it won't be long before we hear from them.

How Lupin Season 3 Ended?

Season of the show was not quite like the first two. Yes, the crimes themselves were absolutely ingenious, and Assane once again proved that he is excellent at his job, but the story also focused on how fragile he is as a human being. The latest chapter brought back two important people from Assane's past.

The Black Pearl operation ended with Assane's fake death, which he had to make everyone believe. And that's what brought his mother Mariama Diop back to his funeral. However, she was immediately captured by another ghost from Assane's past, Jean-Luc Keller.

The whole season was built on Assane trying to save his mother and make Keller pay for everything he did, and he succeeded. However, he also promised Guedirra that he would let him catch him after everything was done, so he turned himself in.

But if you think this is some kind of happy ending for him, you're wrong. The last episode ends with the fans finding out that Hubert Pellegrini is in the next camera and he is planning to hurt Assane. And season 4 has to reveal who was the one who betrayed him.

What Will Lupin Season 4 Be About?

While Hubert Pellegrini is the most unpleasant character in the entire series, there is no doubt that he will be the main villain of season 4. He may even be plotting something with his daughter Juliette Pellegrini, as she was shown at the funeral at the end of the last episode and it was implied that she had something to do with the betrayal.

So the latest season will probably shed some light on what Hubert was up to while in prison. It comes as no shock that he was almost certainly planning some sort of revenge plan to get back at Assane for putting him behind bars.
