When should we expect the anticipated spinoff?

The official YouTube Channel of The Walking Dead just dropped two teasers for the upcoming TWD spinoff called The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.

One of the teasers is super short, just 20 seconds, but the other one is a whopping 2 minutes long. There's definitely some interesting stuff to discuss.

The good news is we've got an update on the release date. We knew the show was coming out in 2023, but now the teasers reveal that it's going to premiere in Fall 2023. While the exact date is still unknown, it will probably be October, as this was when the original series normally premiered.

The 2-minutes-long sneak peek starts with Daryl recording himself: “My name is Daryl Dixon. I come from a place called The Commonwealth.”

While it's unclear why Daryl is recording himself, the recorder might actually become a key element in the story. It would be a much better way for Daryl to express himself than usual mumbling to the new characters.

The teaser doesn't spill the beans on the plot, but one thing is for sure: this series is going to be a visual treat. The teaser shows some breathtaking shots of the French countryside and a seemingly calm city.

The whole teaser is just Daryl casually walking, but the way it is filmed just gets you itching for this spinoff to drop sooner. Plus, you don't often see the apocalypse go down in a European country. The show will certainly be something fresh to the universe.

The teaser doesn’t leave any clues about the plot, but it only ignites the interest. While recording, Daryl also says, “I went out looking for something and all I found was trouble.”

What was Daryl looking for? Well, we know that in the TWD finale, Daryl left the Commonwealth to find Rick and Michonne, but how did he end up in France? Those are questions that the teaser doesn’t address, and that's probably a good thing.

Neither does the spinoff show anyone else but Daryl. The cast of the spinoff also includes Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebanouey, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi. However, there are no specific details about their characters.

Let’s hope a full-fledged trailer will finally give us some clues about the plot of the highly-anticipated spinoff.
