New TBBT Spinoff Risks Turning All Fans Away From the Franchise
The spin-off to the spin-off? Looks like the fans are not going to get exactly what they wanted.
News got out that The Big Bang Theory would be getting a new spinoff, and it immediately caused a stir. Fans began to speculate about what it might be about.
Like a Young Howard, or even a Young Amy Farrah-Fowler, or maybe a spinoff where Raj finally manages to find love. In fact, anything involving the beloved TBBT characters could work.
But it looks like fans of The Big Bang Theory are going to be disappointed very soon, because everything they were hoping for might go wrong.
The thing is, the first spinoff of the original series became so popular that there is a huge possibility that the new spinoff might actually be based on a character from the Young Sheldon show.
This may be due to the fact that Sheldon himself is not really the focus anymore, but all the other characters are. And the chances that one of them will actually be the star of the new spinoff are actually pretty high.
That being said, instead of a story about the Coopers, it could be an offshoot series about another controversial character from the show, Paige Swanson.
She was introduced in Young Sheldon season 2 as another smart kid in Dr. John Sturgis' class.
The writers show the fans that her family broke up and that made her character a bit of a rebel, so it's interesting to follow her story. She shows so much potential that it could be really successful for ABC to have a separate series about her life.
Paige is not a regular character, but she is not a guest star either. Still, her presence on the show is so frequent that she quickly became a fan favorite.
But that's only Young Sheldon fans, since The Big Bang Theory doesn't mention a single word about Paige.
So the so-called Big Bang Theory spinoff about someone the fans of the original series don't even know might not really be good news.
Still, it's too soon to worry – at least we'll have to wait for more plot details and a release date.
