New Star Wars Movies May Actually Clean Up Sequel Trilogy's Mess
Star Wars Celebration 2023 has come and gone, leaving us with plans for more Star Wars installments, and we are all ears!
At the convention, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy shared something to make all the fans rejoice: Star Wars is living, breathing, and is not planning to stop any time soon, and we all should gear up for things to come, including three new feature films (and no, it's not another trilogy).
Accomplished directors James Mangold, Dave Filoni, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy are at the wheel of the said projects, and their involvement gives us hope for the saga to shine once again!
James Mangold's movie should actually be enough for us to freak out (in a good way) because it is the prequel we have all been craving since the '70s!
The Dawn of the Jedi will finally be explored – we may get to see where the Jedi Order and the Sith Cult originated and even find out the identities of the first users of the Force. Wow, right?
The title of the upcoming movie along with further plot details are currently under wraps, but Mangold talked about wanting to create a Force-centric "biblical epic."
We can get so many questions answered with this one! What is essentially the Force and where did it come from? When and how did people start using it? Who taught them how to?
Such a premise opens up a lot of possibilities for the Star Wars universe, we just hope that Mangold treads carefully on this sacred ground.
Dave Filoni's project will contribute to the New Republic lore that The Mandalorian has already made so popular with fans!
We don't know much yet, but there is a good chance that the movie is going to be the crossover (of our dreams) between various Star Wars projects (including the one with Baby Yoda).
Filoni himself said that the movie would see "a lot of those threads start to come together." Do you feel chills?
Finally, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's movie will feature a certain Skywalker. Unfortunately, we mean Rey, and not Luke (sorry, Daisy Ridley).
This sequel will jump 15 years into the future and will center around Rey as she patches up the Jedi Order (remember her promise to Luke?).
Kennedy went on to mention that the movie would touch upon the transformed Jedi's identity "post-war." Sounds actually much more reassuring!
These new Star Wars installments have every chance of cleaning up the mess left by the unfortunate sequel trilogy, and we hope for a fresh start in our favorite galaxy far, far away. Do you?
