Will it be even worth watching then?

Summary:

  • Seinfeld was the hit sitcom created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld. It aired for 9 seasons from 1989 to 1998.
  • Although the show was very loved by the audience, its finale caused a lot of controversy.
  • During a Q&A session that took place in October, Jerry Seinfeld hinted at a possible Seinfeld reboot. However, other actors who were involved in the original series, are in the dark on it.

In an era of remakes, reboots, and spinoffs of all kinds, it's hard to imagine a show like Seinfeld being left behind. When something that was so beloved by so many people for almost a decade is ruined by the most unfortunate finale, it's only fair to revisit it and make things right.

That was probably a chain of thought that many people followed when asked about Seinfeld's final episode. However, for the first time in years, Jerry Seinfeld himself has teased audiences about something in store for them. Something that has to do with the most hated sitcom ending.

While no further details were released, this statement alone was enough to get fans buzzing with anticipation. But as time went on and new details were revealed, that anticipation began to die down.

It turns out that whatever Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld are planning for the beloved sitcom, they're not rushing to let people know about it. Even the ones the audience would probably like to see as much as the main character himself.

As both Jason Alexander, who portrayed George Costanza, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who portrayed Elaine Benes, admitted to the press, neither of them received invitations or were contacted in any other way. The news of a mysterious project involving the Seinfeld finale came as a shock to them as it did to everyone else.

Alexander addressed the issue in a red carpet interview with Extra at the Entertainment Community Fund's Celebrity Poker Tour.

“I don’t know anything about it. No one called me. Apparently, they don’t need George and they may not need Elaine ’cause Julia [Louis-Dreyfus] and I went, ‘Do you know anything about this? I don’t know anything about this,’” the actor admitted.

As he added, Michael Richards, who portrayed Cosmo Kramer in the show, did not seem to be aware of any project the last time they spoke.

To see if Jerry Seinfeld will share more information about what awaits the beloved '90s sitcom in the future, be sure to stay tuned for the latest news and updates. In the meantime, you can binge-watch the original series on Netflix.
