Prepare to rewatch all your favorite episodes, because this strike may take a while.

Just when we all got used to the constant news of our favorite shows being delayed because of the writers' strike that has been going on for the past few months, another strike is brewing in the industry.

This one may be initiated by SAG-AFTRA, a union for television and theater performers.

Members of the union have voted to authorize a strike on June 5, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will happen.

The board will begin negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on June 7, and the strike will only begin if the two are unable to find common ground for a new contract.

What scares fans the most is that the possibility of a strike will take a toll on almost every TV show imaginable, as it is pretty much impossible to film anything without key cast members.

If you are a fan of daytime soap operas, brace yourself: all of the big hits are in immediate danger of going off the air.

None of General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful or Days of Our Lives could continue to air if the union calls a strike.

Although some possible episodes are being shot in advance, they still won't last long enough to cover the strike.

With major networks like ABC, home of General Hospital, already pushing most of their dramas to mid-season due to the writers strike, you can imagine that there is no positive prognosis for the strike being resolved in the near future.

Since the studios are not willing to pay their writers more, they are also unlikely to meet the demands of the actors, creating chaos in the industry.

Despite their statement about "the goal of reaching a new agreement that is beneficial to SAG-AFTRA members and the industry as a whole," the chances of that happening don't seem too good.

Stay tuned for more news on the strikes and the fate of fan-favorite shows.
