New Jonathan Majors Update Hints at Grim MCU Future For Kang Star
Seems like Kang might not conquer anything after all.
Should Jonathan Majors be proven guilty of the charge unveiled yesterday in his domestic violence case, he may potentially be subjected to a maximum prison sentence of one year.
The expedited status conference took place on Tuesday at the Manhattan criminal court building, marking six weeks since Majors' arrest by the NYPD on domestic violence charges.
The actor participated in the hearing remotely.
At the conference, they made a public announcement revealing a revised complaint, alleging that the actor committed third-degree assault, which falls under the category of a class A misdemeanor.
This accusation comes with significant repercussions, such as a potential maximum prison sentence of one year or a probationary period lasting up to three years.
Majors' appearance, hardly noticeable on the screens positioned away from the seats, was accompanied by minimal communication, limited to a brief "Yes ma'am" response to the judge.
The next hearing for this matter is scheduled for June 13, and the judge informed Majors that his physical presence is required.
In a strong and impassioned statement to The A.V. Club, the actor's lawyer Priya Chaudhry denounced the proceedings, attributing them to the systemic racial bias deeply rooted in the legal justice system.
Chaudhry also mentioned none of the police officers around did anything to investigate the assault on Mr. Majors, as he showed a white police officer the injuries the woman caused him.
We have witnessed quite a few similar situations in Hollywood that completely destroyed careers, even after the accused was proven innocent. Guilty or not, Majors' reputation is now certainly damaged.
Even though it is still unclear what will be the outcome of this whole case, fans are already speculating who might take over Major's role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Kang the Conqueror, portrayed by Majors, has been unveiled as the primary antagonist for Marvel's Phase 5 and Phase 6.
