New Horror Master in Town? Looks Like Stephen King Has Picked His Successor
Perhaps there will soon be a new star that will be able to outshine King himself.
Among the writers who became famous for works of a mystical nature, Stephen King perhaps occupies the brightest place – it is no coincidence that this he is called the King of Horror.
It is an amazing gift to be able to write about something that chills the soul, to create stories where characters are endowed with supernatural powers, and at the same time make those stories accessible and understandable to a wide audience. This allowed the author to remain at the top of fame for many decades.
King is listened to when he shares recommendations of movies and TV shows he has seen, but the author's latest recommendation was a little different from the others – on Twitter he shared the name of the author who can be called his full-fledged successor.
Marsha DeFilippo was Stephen King's personal assistant for three decades and recently published a book called Follow the Crumbs. Having been the right hand of a cult author for many years, Marsha must have gained a lot of useful experience, which she now uses in her own new works.
Retiring in 2020, she finally has plenty of time to put her experience to work, and you can already read King's personal recommendation.
According to the plot, four friends start a quilt club, but the last thing they expect to discuss at their meetings is their paranormal abilities. Soon, however, their unusual powers are put to practical use – the grandmother of one of their friends is murdered, and the police is unable to solve the complicated case.
However, thanks to their abilities, the friends not only find the killer, but also make him confess. Now the main task is to show the police the result of their own investigation and convince them that the killer is really guilty, without damaging their own reputation.
Considering that thanks to King, the author is being noticed by more and more fans of twisted and creepy stories, fans can expect that in the near future Marsha DeFilippo will probably get a movie adaptation of her own book and become a new Queen of Horror.
