New Andor 2 Update Finally Solves the Mystery Behind Its Best Character
It seems that he managed to survive the events of season 1 after all.
After the first season of the Star Wars: Andor TV series ended, fans were eager to see the next chapter of the story.
Among other things, many of them were curious about the fate of Andy Serkis' Kino Loy, who unexpectedly became one of the most popular characters in the first season.
And now the mystery behind his fate has finally been revealed. Kino was introduced in episode 8 of the first season as one of the inmates of the Imperial Prison on Narkina 5.
With less than a year left on his sentence, he served as a floor manager, supervising his fellow inmates during work shifts.
Though initially opposed to the idea of an uprising, he changed his mind after learning the terrible truth: there is no way out, prisoners are only transferred to different levels of the prison after their sentence is served.
With Cassian's help, Kino eventually gained access to the prison's intercom and gave one of the most inspiring speeches in all of Star Wars media.
Unfortunately, since the prison is surrounded by water and Kino cannot swim, he is left behind, much to the chagrin of fans.
With the brilliant acting of Andy Serkis, who finally got a chance to shine after his character of Snoke was infamously replaced by Emperor Palpatine in the sequels, many fans wanted to see him return in the second season.
"He put more character in one episode then he ever got to do with Snoke," Reddit user Skelter89 said.
And now, according to a press release from Star Wars Celebration 2023, their wish will finally come true, as Serkis will officially return in the second season.
The only thing that fans fear is that considering the fact that Andy is known for playing CGI characters, he might be playing a completely different alien character.
However, this is highly unlikely as it would have been rather strange.
Kino's story ended on an ambiguous note, and not to explore such a great character further would be a big mistake.
