Cruel business dramas are at their best.

Summary:

  • Succession, a critically acclaimed business drama series from HBO, came to its end last year with the final fourth season, but the show’s theme proved to be very vital and was rapidly picked up by Netflix ’s upcoming series.
  • The show will revolve around the Logan Roy-ish character whose huge business empire is jeopardized after his enemies embark on their revenge.
  • The series is set to be released on Netflix in May.

Succession may have ended its television run last year, but its legacy keeps living on. The show that captured the attention of millions of people across the world and brought the crew a collection of prestigious awards proved that relentless big business-related dramas are what the viewers still get interested in.

Now that the Succession’s story is definitely over, Netflix's upcoming show is supposedly taking its place.

Based on Tom Wolfe’s novel of the same name, A Man in Full follows real estate tycoon Charlie Croker whose immense Atlanta-based conglomerate is risking to be drowned in debts after Croker’s numerous rivals decide to take drastic measures.

Just like Succession’s Logan Roy, Charlie is an impudent and rude boss who won’t stop before any obstacle in an attempt to save his collapsing empire.

Portrayed by Jeff Daniels, Charlie Croker’s business problems will also have a grain of more personal drama with the come-back of ex-wife Martha into Croker’s life with a young and demanding second wife.

Lucy Liu also stars in the show portraying a businesswoman whose life crisis jeopardizes both her job and personal relationships.

Though the show doesn’t have any prior rating yet, the release is still highly anticipated among Netflix viewers as Tom Wolfe’s 1998 novel got many accolades from the book critics.

Given that the novel originally comes as a satire and some kind of wide nation address, the show’s storyline may have some surprising plot twists in its stock.

A Man in Full will hit Netflix on May 2 with all 6 episodes being released at once.
