This docuseries will change your mind about today’s Internet.

These days Netflix is clearly winning over the documentary scene, as the platform takes all the hottest topics and the wildest real-life stories and tells them to the curious audience. Every month docs are prominent members of the platform’s global top.

It gets even more captivating when a documentary film follows the true criminal events, especially those that are yet unsolved and happening right now. That is why the doc that is now holding the fifth place in Netflix’s chart gained such a strong viewership.

The three-episode series starts by introducing us to Miranda and Melanie Wilking, who are famous as TikTok dancers and influencers. The sisters gained millions of followers on social media and attracted the attention of many commercial brand deals.

Back in 2021, Miranda (now Derrick) joined the entertainment management firm named 7M Films that significantly boosted her career. However, her life behind the camera turns out to be darker than the bright and happy pictures she posts online.

A year later Miranda’s family reported that she distanced herself from them completely, and the reason for that lies in the fact that her agency is in fact a cult organization, led by Robert Shinn, who is both Derrick’s manager and a pastor at the Shekinah Church.

They managed to prove it’s a Pentecostal religious sect that attracts influencers and then forces them to cut any relations with the rest of society and to focus on the work for 7M. Shinn is claimed to be the one who is in charge of taking people into the cult.

The docuseries presents the evidence of not only Miranda’s family, but also of a group of influencers who were involved in 7M Films’ activities. It gives insights on how people are brainwashed there, which tasks they receive from Shinn and what impact it has on their mental health.

Titled Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult, it appears to be the first documentary on the dark side of TikTok popularity and continues to satisfy people's interest in terrifying conspiracies. You’ll be definitely blown away by it if you liked Netflix’s The Family (2019) and Web of Make Believe: Death, Lies and the Internet (2022).

Check out this chilling docuseries, as it’s available for streaming on Netflix.
