Neil Gaiman Threatens Not To Release 'Good Omens' Season 2
It's been more than 3 years since the debut of the Amazon Prime's unlikely hit show, and fans are still eagerly awaiting the second season of Neil Gaiman-written extravaganza.
'Good Omens ' centers on a reluctant partnership of an angel (Michael Sheen) and a demon (David Tennant) as they attempt to save the world on the brink of the Apocalypse. Despite low viewership numbers, the series, based on a novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, proved more than popular with viewers, resulting in Amazon agreeing to produce a second and final season of the series.
Despite the good news, some fans are still not happy with Amazon, if only for the fact that the promised season has not been released yet after almost two years. To get at least some info on a possible release date for the second season, fans are taking to social media, writing to many people involved in the production, including Neil Gaiman himself. And the writer is clearly fed up with fans constantly asking him for updates.
While Gaiman's message may seem a bit harsh, one must remember that even famous people have to protect their personal boundaries, and given the rather demanding tone of the fan's message, it's not surprising that the writer snapped. In his next tweet, Gaiman explained his position on the matter, asking people not to be rude to this unlucky fan and informing them that season two has just finished filming this March.
Most of the fans sided with Gaiman, praising him for standing up for himself and the crew and continuing the work of adapting his books for screen.
Other people decided to make fun of the whole situation, accusing that fan of canceling the show or trying to find the secret release date hidden in Gaiman's tweet.
'Good Omens' season 2 will most likely premiere in late 2022 or early 2023.
