The scene where Negan is at his absolute lowest.

The Walking Dead has blessed us with some incredible duos, and it doesn’t necessarily mean romantic relationships. We're talking about Rick and Daryl, Abraham and Eugene, Aaron and Gabriel, and of course, Maggie and Negan.

These two have a seriously messy past. Negan killed Maggie's husband, but he's been showing signs of redemption since then. It's great that the new TWD spinoff, Dead City, gave them a chance to dig deeper into their relationship.

In a recent co-star test by BuzzFeed, Lauren Cohan (Maggie) And Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan), have revealed which scene from the original show they are most proud of.

They have recalled a couple of scenes, but they settled on the one from season 9, episode 5. In this scene, Maggie pays a visit to Negan's cell in Alexandria.

At first, Maggie wants to take revenge on Negan for what he did to Glenn. However, Negan shows his vulnerable side (which doesn't happen very often), and begs Maggie to kill him.

Maggie, acknowledging how pathetic Negan is, decides to leave him suffer because he’s already worse than dead.

This was a very emotional and powerful moment of the show. Seeing a regular guy shed tears is one thing, but witnessing Negan, of all people, cry was something you totally didn’t expect.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan also shared his favorite scene with Negan and Maggie from Dead City.

The scene in question is from episode 2 of Dead City, released last Sunday. Morgan didn’t like the location, but he loved the scene.

In the episode, Maggie and Negan are captured by The Manhattan Tribespeople who lock them in a bathroom. Negan tells Maggie about The Croat, and tries to convince her that he's not like him.

Negan tells Maggie that he had to be a monster (including the murder of Glenn) only when he absolutely had to be a monster in order to protect his people.

Lauren Cohan also liked the scene because she didn't have to say much; she just had to listen.

The third episode of TWD: Dead City is scheduled for July 2, on AMC and AMC+.
