Negan's in for a Rough Time: City of the Dead Will Turn Up the Tension
Once again, Jeffrey Dean Morgan's The Walking Dead character will find himself in hot water.
The star of The Walking Dead series, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, has revealed new details about the plot of the upcoming spin-off The Walking Dead: Dead City about the journey of his character Negan and Maggie Green to New York.
According to the actor, Negan will have some big troubles. In the final episode of The Walking Dead, Maggie (Lauren Cohen) confessed to Negan that she cannot forgive him for killing her husband Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun). Although Maggie accepted the fact that Negan has changed for the better. In the end, Negan left the group of survivors and went off in an unknown direction.
In the spin-off of The Walking Dead: Dead City, a couple of years will have passed since the events shown in the final episode of The Walking Dead. Maggie and Negan will once again be forced to work as a team. For some reason, the heroes will go to New York. And in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jeffrey Dean Morgan hinted that the adventure may end badly for Negan. Apparently, Negan will be to blame for his own problems (well, tell us something we don't know, duh.)
According to Jeffrey Dean Morgan himself, Negan messed up a bit.
He's one of those guys that you just really want to hit. He practically begs for it. And we know that he's headed to New York: him, Maggie, and not many other people. So you can imagine that he's gonna have some trouble. It's not a good combination for him, obviously.
Many fans might think that Negan will bite the dust in the series The Walking Dead: Dead City. However, it's hard to imagine that he won't meet Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in the upcoming Rick & Michonne spin-off (premiere in 2023). Nevertheless, the events of the last episode of The Walking Dead hinted that Negan and Rick will cross paths in The Walking Dead: Dead City.
The premiere of the series The Walking Dead: City of the Dead is scheduled for the first half of 2023.
