NCIS Theory Suggests Wild Consequences of Jessica Knight Plot Twist For Season 22
The season 21 big cliffhanger might in fact turn out to be a bad omen.
NCIS ’ season 22 is still months away from release on CBS this fall, but fans just can’t get enough of a myriad of theories dwelling on guesses where Jessica Knight’s major cliffhanger will eventually take the show’s storyline.
Since the season 21 ending hit the network earlier in May, fans have been speculating about Jessica’s decision and how it will affect her career and personal life, let alone the show’s future seasons as a whole.
Though nobody really saw it coming, another fan theory offered a radically new perspective for NCIS’ next installments, and Knight’s big plot twist is to blame here.
Yet another heated discussion on Reddit was started around ten days ago by a user who, while sharing their thoughts about the season 21 ending, suggested that all the major characters are getting some truly big events in their lives just because NCIS might be wrapping their stories up to eventually end the show entirely.
According to the user, Jessica Knight’s new position out of the MCRT may be seen as her definite departure from the series while Alden Parker’s storyline update after the vision he has on the boat is an attempt to “rush in his backstory” before NCIS gets its ending. Overall, the comment seems to ponder over the chances of season 22 to become the last one for the police procedural giant.
As expected, the comment didn’t find many supporters among those who posted their replies. Some retorted that Jessica Knight’s plot twist is nothing that ominous but rather the writers’ trick to leave the show’s fans on the hook waiting to see how all the tension between her and Jimmy Palmer will eventually play out.
Others pointed out another significant aspect saying that NCIS isn’t coming to its end as long as it garners millions of viewers every TV season, with one of the users also noting that “The OG NCIS show won’t end anytime soon because it’s CBS’ only flagship franchise.”
Despite few fans’ concerns about NCIS’ future, the show indeed has no real reason for wrapping it all up anytime soon. With more Special Agents coming in to replace those that left, NCIS will surely be CBS’ darling for quite some time from now on.
