NCIS Actually Got Some Real-Life Agents to Be Part of the Show, And You Never Noticed

NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) is a real-life organization that investigates crimes involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, and it's the inspiration behind the hit TV show NCIS.
We had a bunch of characters on NCIS that were totally or loosely inspired by real NCIS agents. But what about the ones who actually appeared on the show?
Over the years, several real-life NCIS representatives have appeared on NCIS in small roles or as extras. Some of them have even played themselves in certain episodes.
It's always exciting to see these professionals in action on the series, and it's a testament to the accuracy and attention to detail that goes into making each episode.
Mark Clookie
In NCIS: Los Angeles, Mark Clookie is an NCIS special agent who works for Granger. The character was portrayed by a real-life NCIS agent with the same name.
Mark D. Clookie was a director of the NCIS from 2010 till 2013.
David Brant
The 9th episode of season 3 of NCIS featured an appearance from Dave Brant, a real-life NCIS Special Agent and executive who served at the NCIS agency from 1977 to 2005.
Ray Mabus
Even though Ray Mabus is not a NCIS agent nor former director, he was the Secretary of the Navy in 2009—2017, and NCIS is part of the U.S. Department of the Navy.
He made a cameo appearance in the NCIS episode 9 of season 7 and in episode 8 of season 2.
Thomas Betro
Thomas Betro previously served as the director of NCIS in 2006-2009.
The then-NCIS director made an appearance in the 4th episode of NCIS season 5, where he was shown walking through the corridors of the fictional NCIS headquarters.
For NCIS fans, it's seriously awesome to watch those real-life pros doing their thing on the show. It doesn't matter if they're just being themselves or making cameos, their presence totally amps up the realism of the already captivating series.
