NBC Fall Schedule: When Will One Chicago and Law & Order Return?
Be sure to save the dates!
If there's one thing we've all learned from the events of 2023, it's to be thankful for regular TV schedules. After a long hiatus caused by the strikes, there was nothing more exciting than catching up on our favorite TV shows. And now, as the start of the next 2024/25 season approaches, we're ready for more.
While some networks are still working on their schedules for the upcoming fall, NBC has already released the return dates of its most popular franchises. Here is when you can expect all of One Chicago and Law & Order to return.
One Chicago Fall 2024 Premiere Dates
All three of Chicago's franchise series have been renewed for new seasons on NBC. Chicago Fire, the longest-running of the three, will return for its 13th season, while Chicago P.D. will air its 12th season and Chicago Med will celebrate a 10-season milestone this year.
The One Chicago shows will remain on the same day of the schedule for another year, returning to Wednesdays with longer seasons. Chicago Med will premiere on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 8:00 p.m., followed by Chicago Fire at 9:00 p.m. and Chicago P.D. at 10:00 p.m.
Law & Order Fall 2024 Premiere Dates
Law & Order original series, as well as the franchise's most popular and longest-running spin-off, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, have also been picked up by NBC for another year. Both shows will continue to air on Thursdays, but will premiere in October instead of returning in September like One Chicago.
Season 24 of Law & Order will air on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 8:00c, followed by the premiere episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 26 at 9 p.m. The only major difference for fans of the Law & Order franchise is that at 10 p.m., instead of switching to Law & Order: Organized Crime, NBC will air the second season of Found.
Is Law & Order: Organized Crime Canceled?
The Christopher Meloni-led spinoff of Dick Wolf's iconic crime franchise will not be canceled, although that was a real possibility this season. Instead, the show is being moved from cable to NBC's streaming partner, Peacock. So, Law & Order: Organized Crime's spot on the schedule will now be filled by another show.
Since Organized Crime is no longer an NBC production, the network had no information about the show's upcoming premiere date. So if you are interested in checking it out, stay tuned for more news and behind-the-scenes updates!
