Most Obvious LotR Plot Hole in TBBT None Of Us Noticed
We still manage to miss the most obvious flops in our favorite shows, even after binge-watching them for the 10th time.
The same goes for The Big Bang Theory. It may seem like there's no detail about the show that fans haven't discussed on the Internet.
We know every character's quirky interests and hobbies, we know their favorite food and music, and we definitely know their movie preferences.
Still, the most observant fans have managed to dig up something interesting for us to find out.
There was one particular passion that the four friends in the gang shared. Their love for the Lord of the Rings trilogy was something the writers mentioned about a hundred times, almost in every episode.
There was also one particular episode in the third season that showed their borderline obsession with the franchise.
The one where they found an actual prop ring from the movies and nearly ruined their friendship trying to decide who should keep it.
Despite the fact that four of them were portrayed as true Lord of the Rings nerds, some fans found a real plot hole in that storyline. It actually shows up in the final season when actor Sean Astin made a cameo appearance on the show.
The fans asked the question, if the guys were such LotR fans, how could they not recognize the actor who is, after all, one of the biggest stars of the trilogy and played Samwise Gamgee?
Reddit fans started the conversation, discussing how the four nerds not recognizing Sam was a major plot hole, especially in the universe where there were many scenes based on cameos from the trilogy's stars.
However, in the same discussion, the fans realized that it wasn't the first time the writers made a mistake like that in the plot.
For example, once Raj said that the smartest girl on TV was the one from Blossom (guess who), and then they cast Mayim Bialik as Amy.
Isn't that odd? Well, apparently, no. Because in the end, nobody could have done Amy better than Blossom girl.
