Morgan Freeman’s Thriller Flop From 27 Years Ago Suddenly Entered Netflix Global Top

Netflix viewers keep their unpredictability at its highest level, as the streaming giant has seemingly welcomed another surprising old flick to its global top chart. According to the recent data from FlixPatrol, the Morgan Freeman-led failed psychological thriller Kiss the Girls is now holding sixth place on Netflix’s top 10 chart.

Given that the movie eventually ended up with good reviews from the audience upon its release back in the day, the streaming’s viewers are now having some kind of nostalgia, offering the forgotten film a second chance to make an impression.

Initially released back in 1997, Kiss the Girls follows successful forensic psychologist Alex Cross, portrayed by Morgan Freeman, whose niece suddenly vanishes under mysterious circumstances.

Having discussed the matter with the police, Alex gets reassured that the girl was kidnapped by a lunatic killer mostly known as Casanova and soon gets a chance to meet the latter’s other victim, Dr. Kate McTiernan who somehow managed to escape a much more tragic fate that was expecting her.

After witnessing everything that happened in the killer’s house, Kate teams up with Alex to find his niece and eventually capture the criminal.

Upon its release, Kiss the Girls received some acclaim from the audience, yet still was crashed by the critics. The movie grossed around $60 million against the initial budget of $27 million, breaking even, but unable to bring some profit anyway.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film to this day holds controversial scores of 34% and 62% from critics and viewers respectively, implying that Netflix’s audience does have some reason to return to the forgotten thriller more than twenty years after its release, since the movie is doing just fine with common viewers.
